Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 2.98% or 0.4300 points to trade at 14.8800 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 2.25% or 0.0340 points to end at 1.5440 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 2.00% or 0.0990 points to 5.0450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (LS:SEM), which fell 1.10% or 0.1600 points to trade at 14.3400 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) declined 0.66% or 0.0055 points to end at 0.8255 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 0.65% or 0.0050 points to 0.7650.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Semapa (LS:SEM) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.10% or 0.1600 to 14.3400.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 2.35% or 1.47 to $64.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.57% or 1.91 to hit $55.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 6.50 to trade at $1227.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1396, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8916.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 96.555.
