Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 3.58% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.3180 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 1.81% or 0.0038 points to end at 0.2138 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.69% or 0.0130 points to 0.7820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which fell 1.12% or 0.1600 points to trade at 14.1000 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) declined 0.93% or 0.0260 points to end at 2.7600 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 0.17% or 0.0250 points to 15.0900.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 25 to 8 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.18% or 0.64 to $54.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.58% or 0.76 to hit $48.99 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.43% or 5.77 to trade at $1326.93 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.68% to 1.1885, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8999.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 92.46.
