Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which rose 4.03% or 0.1920 points to trade at 4.9520 at the close. Meanwhile, Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.59% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.2380 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.54% or 0.0067 points to 0.2708 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (LS:SEM), which fell 2.08% or 0.4500 points to trade at 21.1500 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 1.34% or 0.1200 points to end at 8.8100 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was down 0.36% or 0.040 points to 11.140.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 24 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.49% or 0.36 to $72.71 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.75% or 0.51 to hit $67.75 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.59% or 7.30 to trade at $1223.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1699, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8927.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.37.
