Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 2.81% or 0.1300 points to trade at 4.7500 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 2.17% or 0.0960 points to end at 4.5120 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.51% or 0.0160 points to 1.0760 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP (LS:EDP), which fell 0.85% or 0.0230 points to trade at 2.6810 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 0.65% or 0.0015 points to end at 0.2285 and REN (LS:RENE) was down 0.57% or 0.0140 points to 2.4500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.51% or 0.0160 to 1.0760.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.12% or 0.08 to $65.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.44% or 0.27 to hit $61.52 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 0.80 to trade at $1330.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.2317, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8825.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 89.80.
