Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 4.31% or 0.1250 points to trade at 3.0250 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 3.78% or 0.420 points to end at 11.520 and F.Rama (LS:RAMA) was up 3.51% or 0.300 points to 8.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 1.86% or 0.0045 points to trade at 0.2375 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.44% or 0.0038 points to end at 0.2595 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was down 1.19% or 0.0360 points to 2.9960.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.04% or 1.55 to $77.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.28% or 2.31 to hit $72.84 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.10 to trade at $1255.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1578, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 94.86.
