Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 8.43% or 0.0290 points to trade at 0.3730 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 5.23% or 0.1730 points to end at 3.4840 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 2.46% or 0.0200 points to 0.8320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA), which fell 2.81% or 0.090 points to trade at 3.110 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 0.94% or 0.110 points to end at 11.640 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 0.72% or 0.0018 points to 0.2490.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 15 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.64% or 0.40 to $62.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.53% or 0.87 to hit $57.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.76% or 9.75 to trade at $1291.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1792, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 93.39.
