Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 2.06% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.8910 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 1.90% or 0.0048 points to end at 0.2568 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.70% or 0.1400 points to 8.3700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO), which fell 2.63% or 0.0260 points to trade at 0.9620 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 2.05% or 0.3800 points to end at 18.1400 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was down 1.00% or 0.100 points to 9.880.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 2.74% or 1.99 to $74.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.02% or 1.99 to hit $67.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 2.40 to trade at $1202.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1591, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8977.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.05.
