Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.83% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.8890 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.73% or 0.2600 points to end at 15.2600 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 1.11% or 0.1500 points to 13.6450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 1.19% or 0.0029 points to trade at 0.2410 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.09% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.1810 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 1.03% or 0.0200 points to 1.9300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.32% or 0.20 to $61.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.98% or 0.53 to hit $54.76 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.78% or 10.25 to trade at $1325.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1446, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8716.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 95.273.
