Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.63% or 0.0500 points to trade at 1.9500 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 2.33% or 0.0980 points to end at 4.2960 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.27% or 0.0900 points to 7.1600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which fell 0.84% or 0.1150 points to trade at 13.4950 at the close. Ramada Investimentos e Industria SA (LS:RAMA) declined 0.62% or 0.050 points to end at 8.050 and Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) was down 0.55% or 0.0050 points to 0.9075.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 13 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 1.80% or 1.10 to $62.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.76% or 1.47 to hit $54.78 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1309.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1421, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8742.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.583.
