Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 1.32% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.2304 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 0.82% or 0.1250 points to end at 15.3550 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 0.77% or 0.1150 points to 15.0700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 2.00% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.3430 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.83% or 0.0540 points to end at 2.8970 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was down 1.24% or 0.0510 points to 4.0510.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 16 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 5-year highs; up 0.77% or 0.1150 to 15.0700.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.96% or 0.56 to $57.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.48% or 0.25 to hit $51.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.04% or 13.61 to trade at $1297.89 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.1766, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8767.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.64% at 93.03.
