Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.02% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.07% or 0.0051 points to trade at 0.2513 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.51% or 0.2300 points to end at 15.4250 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 0.63% or 0.0030 points to 0.4790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which fell 1.89% or 0.0630 points to trade at 3.2670 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 1.70% or 0.2950 points to end at 17.0100 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was down 1.21% or 0.0640 points to 5.2460.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 24 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.51% or 0.2300 to 15.4250. Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.63% or 0.0030 to 0.4790.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.69% or 0.95 to $57.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.66% or 0.84 to hit $51.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.64 to trade at $1303.14 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1844, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8902.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 92.81.
