Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.32%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 8.86% or 0.1400 points to trade at 1.7200 at the close. Meanwhile, Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) added 4.91% or 0.0130 points to end at 0.2780 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 2.69% or 0.3500 points to 13.3750 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 8.33% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.1650 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) declined 0.31% or 0.0080 points to end at 2.5930 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 0.29% or 0.0001 points to 0.0343.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 38 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) fell to all time lows; falling 8.33% or 0.0150 to 0.1650.
Brent oil for May delivery was up 0.93% or 0.34 to $36.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.96% or 0.66 to hit $34.41 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.20 to trade at $1231.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.0857, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.7783.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 98.44.
