Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Tourism, Food & Beverages and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.05% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC), which rose 10.94% or 1.37 points to trade at 13.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) added 6.52% or 0.090 points to end at 1.470 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) was up 4.91% or 0.91 points to 19.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT), which fell 4.74% or 0.61 points to trade at 12.26 at the close. Soda Sanayii (IS:SODA) declined 4.64% or 0.240 points to end at 4.930 and Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) was down 4.15% or 0.47 points to 10.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 187 to 147 and 74 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was up 1.26% or 15.60 to $1257.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.09% or 0.03 to hit $34.63 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.06 to trade at $36.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.39% to 2.9138, while EUR/TRY rose 0.41% to 3.1932.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 97.67.
