Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 3.17% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 1.53% or 0.040 points to trade at 2.660 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 0.65% or 0.80 points to end at 123.30 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was down 0.05% or 0.010 points to 20.435 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which fell 7.57% or 0.338 points to trade at 4.129 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 6.64% or 0.950 points to end at 13.352 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 5.97% or 0.587 points to 9.252.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 114 to 25 and 3 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 31.93% to 16.81 a new 1-month high.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.48% or 1.88 to $55.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.66% or 1.61 to hit $62.11 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.59% or 22.75 to trade at $1455.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1110, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.9135.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 97.847.
