Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 3.11% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were IMCD NV (AS:IMCD), which rose 6.65% or 8.75 points to trade at 140.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 0.67% or 0.20 points to end at 29.87 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 0.62% or 0.16 points to 26.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which fell 12.63% or 78.80 points to trade at 545.20 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 11.18% or 92.80 points to end at 737.10 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was down 9.34% or 10.75 points to 104.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 85 to 18 and 7 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.05% or 2.33 to $73.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.69% or 2.14 to hit $77.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.40 to trade at $2,480.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.05% at 103.11.
