Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 2.52%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Relx PLC (AS:REL), which rose 2.59% or 1.12 points to trade at 44.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) added 2.37% or 0.56 points to end at 24.19 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 2.01% or 3.15 points to 160.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which fell 15.64% or 123.90 points to trade at 668.10 at the close. ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) declined 13.92% or 82.00 points to end at 507.00 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was down 11.12% or 12.65 points to 101.15.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 55 to 43 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Relx PLC (AS:REL) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.59% or 1.12 to 44.36. Shares in Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.01% or 3.15 to 160.15.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 5.08% or 3.75 to $70.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 4.87% or 3.77 to hit $73.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 17.20 to trade at $2,682.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 102.96.
