Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.81% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 1.64% or 0.47 points to trade at 29.15 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 1.57% or 0.26 points to end at 16.97 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) was up 1.11% or 0.64 points to 58.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which fell 10.93% or 106.90 points to trade at 870.90 at the close. ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) declined 7.65% or 56.20 points to end at 678.60 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was down 7.13% or 11.95 points to 155.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 57 to 41 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.57% or 0.26 to 16.97.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.96% or 1.56 to $81.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.45% or 1.21 to hit $84.94 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 1.40 to trade at $2,466.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 103.53.
