Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 0.10% or 0.05 points to trade at 51.30 at the close. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) fell 0.55% or 0.10 points to end at 18.85 and Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) was down 0.64% or 0.35 points to 54.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 4.45% or 0.652 points to trade at 14.010 at the close. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) declined 3.76% or 1.82 points to end at 46.62 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was down 3.57% or 1.32 points to 35.61.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 108 to 20 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.45% or 0.652 to 14.010. Shares in ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.55% or 0.10 to 18.85.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 18.28% to 16.09.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 5.83% or 3.58 to $57.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 4.92% or 3.49 to hit $67.50 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.82% or 10.45 to trade at $1284.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1183, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 97.713.
