Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.26% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 1.21% or 0.25 points to trade at 20.83 at the close. Meanwhile, DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) added 1.13% or 1.25 points to end at 111.75 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 0.81% or 0.24 points to 29.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which fell 9.43% or 65.40 points to trade at 627.80 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) declined 8.49% or 13.05 points to end at 140.65 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was down 3.50% or 0.13 points to 3.64.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 69 to 30 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.13% or 1.25 to 111.75.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.95% or 0.73 to $77.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.94% or 0.76 to hit $81.77 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.61% or 14.60 to trade at $2,421.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 103.96.
