Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.16%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which rose 2.45% or 1.05 points to trade at 43.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) added 1.68% or 0.35 points to end at 21.24 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.05% or 0.980 points to 94.660 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which fell 8.69% or 3.02 points to trade at 31.73 at the close. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 3.47% or 1.40 points to end at 38.92 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was down 1.60% or 0.04 points to 2.28.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 91 to 37 and 12 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.61% to 16.36.
Crude oil for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $69.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.11% or 0.09 to hit $79.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.20 to trade at $1224.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1470, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8844.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 95.75.
