Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.14%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 1.61% or 2.32 points to trade at 146.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 1.54% or 0.042 points to end at 2.771 and Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) was up 0.39% or 0.19 points to 48.73 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which fell 3.89% or 0.80 points to trade at 19.77 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 3.47% or 0.672 points to end at 18.710 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was down 3.00% or 0.96 points to 31.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 102 to 32 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.89% or 0.80 to 19.77. Shares in Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.54% or 0.042 to 2.771.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 6.65% to 13.04.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.99% or 0.56 to $56.10 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.78% or 0.52 to hit $65.78 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.05% or 13.55 to trade at $1299.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1243, while EUR/GBP rose 1.04% to 0.8642.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 97.262.
