Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.11% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which rose 0.88% or 0.40 points to trade at 45.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) fell 0.02% or 0.01 points to end at 46.72 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was down 0.12% or 0.06 points to 50.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 3.52% or 3.200 points to trade at 87.800 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 3.23% or 0.08 points to end at 2.37 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was down 3.12% or 2.74 points to 84.98.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 99 to 28 and 11 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 6.48% to 15.03 a new 1-month high.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.67% or 0.50 to $73.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.95% or 0.80 to hit $83.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.34% or 16.10 to trade at $1189.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1478, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 95.52.
