Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 1.02% or 0.08 points to trade at 7.96 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 0.99% or 0.260 points to end at 26.465 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 0.34% or 0.062 points to 18.318 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc), which fell 2.38% or 1.07 points to trade at 43.59 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 2.05% or 1.760 points to end at 83.900 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was down 1.85% or 0.315 points to 16.730.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 70 to 42 and 14 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.02% to 13.80.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.35% or 0.83 to $60.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.69% or 0.45 to hit $64.50 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.70 to trade at $1327.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.2400, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 89.63.
