Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.22% or 0.74 points to trade at 23.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad NV (AS:RAND) added 2.84% or 1.16 points to end at 42.02 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) was up 1.75% or 1.04 points to 60.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which fell 2.16% or 0.69 points to trade at 31.29 at the close. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 2.06% or 2.04 points to end at 97.12 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was down 2.04% or 14.60 points to 700.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 55 to 37 and 15 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.39% or 0.29 to $74.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $78.24 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 15.36 to trade at $2,780.36 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.99% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 107.05.
