Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 1.65% or 0.78 points to trade at 48.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.26% or 1.080 points to end at 86.920 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.89% or 1.70 points to 192.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which fell 1.86% or 0.67 points to trade at 35.02 at the close. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 1.84% or 0.68 points to end at 36.20 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) was down 1.58% or 0.82 points to 51.06.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 71 to 61 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.65% or 0.78 to 48.04.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.96% to 14.61.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.54% or 1.05 to $67.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.48% or 0.37 to hit $78.09 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1301.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1664, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8778.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.09.
