Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 1.26% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.79 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad NV (AS:RAND) added 1.01% or 0.45 points to end at 44.83 and Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) was up 0.81% or 0.25 points to 30.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which fell 5.12% or 34.20 points to trade at 633.90 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) declined 1.74% or 0.27 points to end at 15.26 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) was down 1.42% or 1.65 points to 114.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 63 to 37 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.26% or 0.05 to 3.79.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.20% or 0.14 to $70.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $74.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 6.35 to trade at $2,685.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 103.29.
