Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which rose 0.60% or 0.19 points to trade at 30.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad NV (AS:RAND) added 0.37% or 0.16 points to end at 43.91 and Prosus (AS:PRX) was up 0.11% or 0.05 points to 40.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which fell 2.07% or 1.30 points to trade at 61.42 at the close. Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) declined 1.75% or 1.02 points to end at 57.14 and IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) was down 1.70% or 2.65 points to 153.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 70 to 24 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Prosus (AS:PRX) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 0.11% or 0.05 to 40.94.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 4.38% or 3.07 to $73.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 4.15% or 3.07 to hit $76.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.55 to trade at $2,670.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 0.87% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 101.80.
