Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which rose 0.88% or 0.50 points to trade at 57.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) added 0.34% or 0.13 points to end at 38.25 and Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) was up 0.22% or 0.07 points to 32.13 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which fell 3.01% or 0.562 points to trade at 18.136 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 2.71% or 0.26 points to end at 9.26 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was down 2.22% or 3.70 points to 163.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 78 to 33 and 21 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.80% to 10.75.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.48% or 0.31 to $64.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $69.84 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.19% or 15.90 to trade at $1352.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.73% to 1.2388, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.8728.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.81% at 89.15.
