Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 1.53% or 0.045 points to trade at 2.995 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) added 1.31% or 0.46 points to end at 35.46 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 1.07% or 0.180 points to 17.065 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which fell 13.17% or 1.35 points to trade at 8.90 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 5.03% or 1.250 points to end at 23.595 and SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) was down 1.65% or 0.23 points to 13.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 85 to 44 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Altice NV (AS:ATCA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 13.17% or 1.35 to 8.90.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.71% to 12.90.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.11% or 1.20 to $55.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.96% or 1.24 to hit $61.92 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1279.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.1767, while EUR/GBP rose 0.64% to 0.8953.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 93.90.
