Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 2.74% or 0.60 points to trade at 22.49 at the close. Meanwhile, ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) added 1.69% or 0.68 points to end at 40.82 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 0.93% or 0.21 points to 22.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 3.02% or 2.760 points to trade at 88.620 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 2.56% or 3.78 points to end at 143.96 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was down 2.04% or 0.04 points to 2.07.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 79 to 43 and 13 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.05% to 16.21.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.30% or 0.17 to $56.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.67% or 0.45 to hit $66.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 2.00 to trade at $1222.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1445, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 96.10.
