Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Relx PLC (AS:REL), which rose 0.42% or 0.075 points to trade at 17.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) added 0.34% or 0.095 points to end at 27.785 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was up 0.32% or 0.16 points to 50.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 4.36% or 4.100 points to trade at 90.000 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 4.23% or 0.09 points to end at 2.13 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 2.29% or 0.510 points to 21.750.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 100 to 29 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gemalto (AS:GTO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.32% or 0.16 to 50.66.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 11.51% to 15.87.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.08% or 0.65 to $60.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.25% or 0.88 to hit $71.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.00 to trade at $1203.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.80% to 1.1245, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8751.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 97.34.
