Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR), which rose 0.76% or 0.40 points to trade at 52.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 0.75% or 0.03 points to end at 3.50 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) was up 0.73% or 0.72 points to 99.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which fell 3.52% or 5.60 points to trade at 153.60 at the close. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) declined 3.10% or 1.86 points to end at 58.10 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was down 2.40% or 16.60 points to 675.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 78 to 23 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) rose to 3-years highs; up 0.76% or 0.40 to 52.74. Shares in Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.10% or 1.86 to 58.10.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $78.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $82.78 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.20% or 27.75 to trade at $2,345.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 105.20.
