Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 1.46% or 0.52 points to trade at 36.17 at the close. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 1.06% or 0.28 points to end at 26.17 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 0.55% or 0.016 points to 2.938 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which fell 2.45% or 0.38 points to trade at 15.12 at the close. Unilever NV (AS:UNc) declined 1.34% or 0.68 points to end at 50.11 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was down 1.31% or 0.48 points to 36.56.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 71 to 54 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) rose to all time highs; up 1.06% or 0.28 to 26.17.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.17% to 10.57.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.97% or 1.51 to $49.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.61% or 1.49 to hit $55.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 2.55 to trade at $1275.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1727, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.8986.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.71.
