Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 1.65% or 0.044 points to trade at 2.704 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.99% or 1.200 points to end at 122.150 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 0.99% or 1.30 points to 132.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 5.50% or 0.848 points to trade at 14.558 at the close. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) declined 4.21% or 2.01 points to end at 45.69 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was down 1.52% or 0.53 points to 34.36.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 93 to 38 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) rose to all time highs; up 0.99% or 1.200 to 122.150.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.91% to 12.12.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.19% or 0.11 to $57.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $64.11 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.15 to trade at $1400.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1211, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8994.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 97.088.
