Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 3.42% or 1.72 points to trade at 52.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) added 1.21% or 1.10 points to end at 92.00 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 1.10% or 2.05 points to 188.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which fell 16.30% or 0.47 points to trade at 2.41 at the close. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 3.18% or 0.180 points to end at 5.472 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 3.13% or 0.880 points to 27.255.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 82 to 44 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.21% or 1.10 to 92.00.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.81% to 12.57.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.02% or 1.37 to $69.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.41% or 1.02 to hit $73.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.50 to trade at $1223.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1614, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.8910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 94.81.
