Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL), which rose 0.93% or 0.34 points to trade at 36.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) added 0.49% or 3.20 points to end at 661.00 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 0.46% or 0.013 points to 2.858 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 4.66% or 4.140 points to trade at 84.660 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) declined 2.38% or 0.47 points to end at 19.04 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was down 1.32% or 2.20 points to 165.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 95 to 39 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.38% or 0.47 to 19.04. Shares in Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.46% or 0.013 to 2.858.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.66% to 15.64.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.19% or 0.11 to $58.93 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.21% or 0.14 to hit $66.89 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.79% or 10.45 to trade at $1329.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1319, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8589.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 96.005.
