Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which rose 0.48% or 0.24 points to trade at 50.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) added 0.27% or 0.10 points to end at 39.58 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 0.21% or 0.16 points to 77.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.11% or 1.830 points to trade at 84.780 at the close. Gemalto (AS:GTO) declined 1.91% or 0.78 points to end at 40.10 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was down 1.90% or 0.68 points to 35.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 77 to 43 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.27% or 0.10 to 39.58.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.44% to 9.95 a new 6-months low.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.34% or 0.17 to $49.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $55.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 2.19 to trade at $1327.11 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1957, while EUR/GBP fell 0.94% to 0.8812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 91.80.
