Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which rose 0.94% or 0.47 points to trade at 50.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 0.70% or 0.021 points to end at 3.002 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 0.34% or 0.14 points to 43.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which fell 3.17% or 1.04 points to trade at 31.80 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.34% or 0.10 points to end at 7.38 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was down 1.23% or 0.42 points to 33.83.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 80 to 36 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Altice NV (AS:ATCA) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.34% or 0.10 to 7.38. Shares in Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.23% or 0.42 to 33.83.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.34% to 12.10.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.41% or 0.83 to $58.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.19% or 0.12 to hit $63.59 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.59% or 7.62 to trade at $1294.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1905, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8930.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 92.78.
