Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB), which rose 0.68% or 0.28 points to trade at 41.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) added 0.51% or 0.17 points to end at 34.24 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 0.32% or 0.25 points to 77.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heineken (AS:HEIN), which fell 3.38% or 2.87 points to trade at 82.10 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.49% or 0.385 points to end at 25.435 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was down 1.33% or 0.48 points to 35.74.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 87 to 42 and 7 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 12.08% to 12.67 a new 1-month high.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.51% or 0.27 to $52.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.17% or 0.10 to hit $58.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.97 to trade at $1280.27 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1809, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.8910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 93.53.
