Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 1.08% or 0.170 points to trade at 15.925 at the close. Meanwhile, SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) added 1.02% or 0.15 points to end at 14.87 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.80% or 1.65 points to 207.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which fell 5.16% or 2.82 points to trade at 51.88 at the close. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) declined 4.86% or 1.74 points to end at 34.07 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was down 2.20% or 0.360 points to 16.010.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 69 to 57 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.08% or 0.170 to 15.925.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.22% to 11.30 a new 1-month high.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.92% or 0.48 to $52.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.36% or 0.78 to hit $58.15 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.64 to trade at $1277.26 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1764, while EUR/GBP rose 0.70% to 0.8964.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 93.81.
