Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.40% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 1.59% or 0.39 points to trade at 24.90 at the close. Meanwhile, DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) added 0.96% or 1.00 points to end at 104.85 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 0.31% or 0.10 points to 32.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which fell 1.72% or 0.71 points to trade at 40.65 at the close. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) declined 1.35% or 16.60 points to end at 1,214.00 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was down 1.31% or 8.20 points to 616.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 69 to 31 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Randstad NV (AS:RAND) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.72% or 0.71 to 40.65.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.04% or 0.03 to $69.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $73.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.98% or 25.70 to trade at $2,656.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 106.77.
