Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.37% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 2.22% or 2.90 points to trade at 133.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) added 0.66% or 0.16 points to end at 24.33 and Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) was up 0.57% or 0.14 points to 24.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which fell 1.46% or 21.00 points to trade at 1,420.00 at the close. Prosus (AS:PRX) declined 1.45% or 0.58 points to end at 39.28 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was down 0.99% or 1.60 points to 159.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 60 to 43 and 6 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.98% or 0.68 to $68.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.96% or 0.70 to hit $71.86 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 13.34 to trade at $2,631.76 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 107.78.
