Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction & Materials, Food Producers and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which rose 1.51% or 1.55 points to trade at 104.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Prosus (AS:PRX) added 1.34% or 0.46 points to end at 34.34 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 0.99% or 0.04 points to 3.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which fell 2.91% or 34.60 points to trade at 1,153.80 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 1.76% or 17.30 points to end at 966.50 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was down 1.40% or 9.80 points to 692.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 56 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) rose to 5-year highs; up 0.99% or 0.04 to 3.57.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.10% or 0.08 to $80.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.08% or 0.07 to hit $85.26 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.95 to trade at $2,344.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.82.
