Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.34% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Relx PLC (AS:REL), which rose 1.06% or 0.220 points to trade at 20.920 at the close. Meanwhile, ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) added 0.97% or 0.30 points to end at 31.18 and Unilever NV (AS:UNA) was up 0.75% or 0.3900 points to 52.5700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which fell 7.73% or 0.290 points to trade at 3.460 at the close. Takeaway Com Holding BV (AS:TKWY) declined 5.42% or 4.7000 points to end at 82.0000 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was down 2.66% or 0.91 points to 33.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 102 to 33 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.73% or 0.290 to 3.460.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.78% to 21.27 a new 6-months high.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.32% or 0.73 to $54.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.68% or 1.00 to hit $58.48 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 5.95 to trade at $1533.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1106, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.9170.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 97.993.
