Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.33% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 2.29% or 0.265 points to trade at 11.830 at the close. Meanwhile, Aegon (AS:AEGN) added 1.77% or 0.067 points to end at 3.858 and Randstad (AS:RAND) was up 1.37% or 0.62 points to 46.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DSM Kon (AS:DSMN), which fell 4.27% or 2.44 points to trade at 54.70 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 2.02% or 0.32 points to end at 15.49 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was down 1.76% or 0.59 points to 32.74.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 109 to 61 and 12 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.66% to 23.34 a new 3-months high.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.79% or 0.81 to $44.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.34% or 0.63 to hit $46.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.36% or 4.65 to trade at $1303.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1103, while EUR/GBP fell 1.19% to 0.8915.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 97.22.
