Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 0.73% or 0.02 points to trade at 2.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) added 0.56% or 0.50 points to end at 90.08 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 0.47% or 0.85 points to 180.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which fell 2.24% or 0.272 points to trade at 11.852 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.48% or 0.395 points to end at 26.285 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was down 1.32% or 0.50 points to 37.24.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 83 to 44 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.24% or 0.272 to 11.852.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.97% to 13.33 a new 1-month high.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.65% or 1.79 to $65.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.14% or 1.56 to hit $71.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.40% or 17.10 to trade at $1201.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1387, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8932.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 96.29.
