Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were NN Group NV (AS:NN), which rose 1.67% or 0.54 points to trade at 32.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 1.36% or 0.038 points to end at 2.838 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.17% or 0.180 points to 15.605 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.85% or 1.930 points to trade at 65.790 at the close. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) declined 2.15% or 0.61 points to end at 28.02 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was down 1.36% or 0.245 points to 17.800.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 90 to 36 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.15% or 0.61 to 28.02.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 6.10% to 13.75.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.46% or 1.11 to $46.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.18% or 1.04 to hit $48.83 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.62 to trade at $1223.32 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.1412, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8811.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 95.64.
