Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which rose 0.70% or 0.55 points to trade at 79.46 at the close. Meanwhile, IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) added 0.67% or 0.45 points to end at 67.85 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.62% or 0.520 points to 85.060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which fell 3.50% or 1.55 points to trade at 42.68 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 1.58% or 0.380 points to end at 23.600 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was down 1.56% or 0.044 points to 2.780.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 70 to 58 and 12 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.19% to 15.10.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.20% or 0.12 to $59.29 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.18% or 0.12 to hit $67.12 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.57% or 20.65 to trade at $1296.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1231, while EUR/GBP rose 0.97% to 0.8605.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 96.740.
