Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 3.01% or 1.43 points to trade at 48.69 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding (AS:ASML) added 2.71% or 2.60 points to end at 98.53 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 2.06% or 0.265 points to 13.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.27% or 1.310 points to trade at 56.400 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 2.23% or 0.44 points to end at 19.43 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was down 1.90% or 0.127 points to 6.572.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 101 to 79 and 7 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.80% to 18.35.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.20% or 0.09 to $45.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $46.59 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.68% or 8.30 to trade at $1208.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.0595, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8592.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 101.33.
