Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 1.75% or 0.098 points to trade at 5.706 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) added 1.35% or 0.350 points to end at 26.350 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 1.21% or 1.02 points to 85.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.42% or 2.200 points to trade at 88.880 at the close. Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) declined 2.07% or 0.92 points to end at 43.36 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was down 1.82% or 0.048 points to 2.591.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 60 to 55 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.21% or 1.02 to 85.40.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.30% to 14.69.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.39% or 0.89 to $63.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.10% or 0.74 to hit $66.55 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.25% or 16.70 to trade at $1316.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.67% to 1.2235, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8792.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 90.29.
